Santacana is a brand is glove brand for men and women from Madrid which dates back to 1896.
In 1896, the first Santacana manufacture opened in the Barrio de las Letras in Madrid. At that time, the name was Zurro Gloves. Then, the first manufacture manager married the daughter of the owner and renamed the brand with his name: Mario Herrero. After all these romantic events, the renown was growing, Mario Herrero become the reference glove-maker at a time when gloves were used to bring a sophisticated touch to suits and dresses. It was only in 2001 that Santacana Complementos became the official name.
For Spanish people, the glove is a real passion that last for more than a century. Still today, they are made in a completely artisanal manufacture: the measuring tool (for the glove length), the dull knife to unpile, the chalk to draw on the leather, the handmade plate, and many other processes often forgotten… Of course, Spanish, colourful and unbridled creativity is added to functionality. Little by little, Santacana developed and proposes now a complete range of accessories with woollen hats and scarves.
At Victoire, we buy their accessories and their gloves for several winters. We create our own mix of colours. Sometimes conventional and tone-on-tone, other times, vibrant and bold. The idea is still to entertain and surprise you.
