This week, Morgane and I are in Florence for a few days dedicated only to men and the winter 2025 collection. Big blue sky and freezing cold temperatures, welcome to Pitti Uomo, the biggest fashion for men fair in the world…
There are of course our favourite brands: Bob, Pt, Briglia, Mason’s, Altem Flower, Santaniello… that we select in Milan or in Paris. But, in Florence, we pace up and down 60,000 m2 of the fair looking for novelties, you know, these small gems designed to surprise you and make your heart race. The collect was good: very flexible cashmere sneakers, Navajo meshes, “punto Milano” cap, upcycled bags to make a bomber jacket designed by Jazz, an English designer who doesn’t do things like anybody else and even for a log retainer… Then, the 2025 edition stands out by its creativity, its attention to detail, and beautiful fabrics.
And yet, the show is elsewhere…
Twice a year, the paths of the Basso fortress transform into a giant catwalk where everyone can express their style freely. Perfectly tailored three-piece suits like in “Peaky Blinders”, sapeurs, eccentric creatives, workers… All are here to reassert, loud and clear, that fashion for men is as exciting as fashion for women. You are not going to rule against them… And men who have style and are on a catwalk to stand for gender égality, we love that!
