Quick, I need a cashmere!

Vite un cachemire !
A few weeks ago, I was watching the series “Emily in Paris”. Rest assured, I am not going to recommend you watch this minor miracle… Nonetheless, against all odds, one episode made me question myself: cashmere goats in Italy, whatttttt????

I had never heard of a cashmere goat farms in Italy… And rightly so, after some detailed research, you can indeed find some rare specimens on Italian soil and even in France, in the Beaujolais or the Touraine regions, but all of it is still almost anecdotal.

Because, Emily, cashmere is the pure product of a soil, the ones of China, Mongolia, India, Iran, Tibet… where goats develop at altitude on arid plains. They have to face extreme cold and they grow a little down under their fur, a down that later becomes… cashmere.

At Victoire, some of our cashmeres are made in China with local threads, others in Italy with threads coming from Mongolia or recycled cashmere. In Italy, Tuscany more accurately, the family spinning mill Foxx that manufactures our cashmeres. The major novelty this winter is recycled cashmere. Cashmere sweaters are collected and unraveled to be transformed back into threads that keep their softness and quality of their noble origin.

Our cashmeres are all designed in our Paris workshop. In terms of style, there is something for everyone, of course, and in terms of colours as well… With cold weather showing up, there nothing warmer, softer, and lighter than Victoire cashmere.

Have a nice weekend,
Camille

P.S. : Careful, a cashmere needs care. It is a fibre that loves water, so you must wash it often by hand or in machine, at a cold temperature, gentle spin, dry flat to avoid any distortion. You must iron it inside out with a cool iron. To extend the useful life of your cashmere and to maintain its overall appearance, you must “unpill” it often with a razor or a comb that removes the fabric surplus due to frictions.
